To improve the response to HIV, new and more effective interventions are required that consider the full scope of biomedical, behavioral, and social challenges. Local and international organisations continue to invest in areas of research that support the development of an effective HIV vaccine and cure, as well as improve other HIV prevention and treatment interventions.
There has been a growing momentum in scientific research toward finding a cure for HIV infection. This has been supported by the International AIDS Society’s ‘Towards a Cure Initiative’ and other international networks focused on HIV cure research.
