Douglas O. Bosire, Ag. CEO of the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC), today joined hundreds of delegates at the 2nd National Cancer Summit, officially opened by H.E. Dr. Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, EGH, Prime Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.
As a key partner of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), which is hosting the summit in Nairobi, NSDCC reinforced its commitment to addressing the intersection between cancer and syndemic diseases.
The summit’s objective—to review the status of cancer prevention, early detection efforts, and progress toward Universal Health Coverage—strongly aligns with NSDCC’s mandate to lead advocacy and public engagement in the prevention and control of syndemic diseases.
In his remarks, NCI CEO Dr. Elias Melly described the event as timely, marking “a defining moment in our collective efforts to strengthen cancer control in Kenya.”
This year’s summit theme is “Uniting Our Voices and Taking Action.”
