The National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC) joined stakeholders in the official opening of the AHF Kenya Wellness Clinic in Mathare, Nairobi. The event was held in collaboration with the Nairobi County Government and the Office of the Member of the National Assembly for Kamukunji Constituency.

The new clinic is set to expand access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, with a particular focus on the prevention, testing, and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Working hand in hand with local communities and stakeholders, the facility will strengthen referral systems and linkages to care.

A notable innovation at the clinic is the installation of a 12-panel Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) diagnostic machine. This advanced technology enables the simultaneous detection of multiple STIs in a single test, ensuring faster, more accurate diagnosis while reducing the risks of misdiagnosis, delayed treatment, and drug resistance.

Beyond diagnostics, the clinic will provide counselling, HIV testing and treatment, prevention services including PrEP and PEP, as well as condom education and distribution. These services are expected to contribute significantly to improved health outcomes, stronger community health systems, and a more inclusive national health response.
