Kenya has launched the Public Service Workplace Policy on HIV and AIDS and Otherย Syndemic Diseases (2025) to promote wellness, strengthen resilience, and safeguard the productivity of public servants. The policy expands beyond HIV to include mental health, non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, and malaria, ensuring inclusivity, confidentiality, and accountability in workplace support.

The launch was graced by Dr Jane Kere Imbunya, PhD, Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development , Dr Ouma Oluga, OGW, Principal Secretary for Medical Services,, and Douglas O. Bosire, Acting CEO of NSDCC among other leaders.

The leaders underlined Governmentโ€™s commitment to a healthier and more productive public service. Anne Cecilia Atieno Okaro, a teacher with the Teachers Service Commission, also shared her lived experience, reinforcing the importance of support and acceptance for public servants living with health conditions
