Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, EGH, has commended the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC), under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Douglas O. Bosire, MBS, for its exemplary leadership in coordinating Kenya’s response to HIV and other syndemic diseases.
Speaking during the World Blood Donor Day commemoration in Garissa County, the Cabinet Secretary lauded NSDCC’s commitment to advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through a strong multisectoral approach that brings together government institutions, county governments, development partners, civil society, the private sector and communities.
Hon. Duale noted that the Council’s strategic partnerships continue to strengthen access to essential healthcare services while promoting disease prevention, health promotion and community engagement. He underscored the importance of coordinated action in addressing HIV and other syndemic diseases and ensuring that quality health services reach all Kenyans.
The Cabinet Secretary further recognised NSDCC’s contribution to building resilient health systems through advocacy, partnership and coordination, reaffirming that collaboration remains central to improving health outcomes and accelerating progress towards ending HIV as a public health threat.
The recognition reflects the critical role played by NSDCC in coordinating Kenya’s multisectoral HIV and syndemic response and advancing a healthier, more resilient nation.
