The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, EGH, hosted the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC) Board for a consultative meeting aimed at accelerating Kenyaโ€™s progress towards ending HIV and other syndemic diseases.

The meeting highlighted NSDCCโ€™s strategic mandate in multisectoral coordination, resource mobilization, partnerships and advocacy all aimed at eliminating barriers that impede progress towards ending these epidemics.

The discussions emphasized the need for sustained partnerships, evidence-based programming and efficient resource mobilization to ensure that national efforts remain aligned with Kenyaโ€™s goal to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.

The NSDCC Board reaffirmed its commitment to executing the Councilโ€™s broad mandate, which includes providing strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight of Kenyaโ€™s multi-sectoral HIV and syndemics response. The Council is also mandated to mobilize and manage resources, promote partnerships across public, private, and community sectors, and generate and disseminate strategic information to guide national action.

Together, the Ministry of Health and NSDCC reaffirmed their commitment to building a healthier, resilient, and inclusive nation, ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey towards ending HIV and other syndemic diseases in Kenya.
