In the lead-up to International Condom Day 2025, the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC), County Government of Migori, Rongo University and  key stakeholders have officially launched the G-Jali microsite—a cutting-edge digital platform designed to enhance awareness of HIV, sexual and reproductive health, and gender-based violence among adolescents and young people.

Speaking at the launch event, Dr. Stephen Ndolo, Director of Health Promotion and Programme Management at NSDCC, commended the initiative for its innovative approach in empowering youth with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their sexual health. He highlighted the importance of digital solutions in reaching young people and fostering safer sexual behaviours.

Rongo University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Michael Ntabo, underscored the significance of prioritising youth health, stating: “A healthy and productive citizenry begins with knowing our status. It is imperative that we empower our young people with accurate information to safeguard their future.”

With young people aged 15-24 accounting for more than half of new HIV infections in 2023, the G-Jali campaign seeks to bridge critical knowledge gaps through a combination of digital platforms, peer-led initiatives, and mobile health (mHealth) interventions.

By harnessing social media and digital engagement, the microsite will serve as a trusted resource for young people—offering factual, accessible, and youth-friendly content on HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health, and gender-based violence awareness.

This initiative is a bold step towards expanding access to essential health services, empowering young people to make informed choices, and accelerating efforts to end AIDS by 2030.
